Summary:
Experience frenzied "dogfight" action and true air simulation features in the officially licensed F-16 Air Fighter.



Description:

You’ve just entered the US Air Force, and your young pilot career starts above the American territory, where you will have to chase and neutralize terrorists groups. The game is divided into 8 missions (African desert, Atlantic ocean, Afghan mountains, etc…), each introduced by a briefing screen describing the objectives you’ll be assigned to.

Between the war missions, some “special” or “training” missions will let you refuel your aircraft (following and docking with the refuelling plane) or practice your flight controls and shooting accuracy.
The gaming screen displays 3 pieces of information : fuel, weapons and energy status. You will need to pick-up bonus during the missions to improve or restore these elements.




The weapons you’ll be able to use are : gunshot, missiles, homing missiles, and wave shots. Each of these come with 4 levels of up-grade. You’ll also get smart bombs, enabling you to destroy everything on the screen (except bosses).

You’ll be confronted to 8 types of enemies. In the air : MIG-29 and B-29 planes, plus KA-50 Hokum and MI-24 Hind helicopters. On the ground or above the ocean : terrorists, submarine, AMX 30B2 tanks and watch towers.

At the end of each level, you’ll need to destroy a increasingly mighty and dangerous boss.
You’ll need to succeed a mission to go to the next one. At the end of each level, you will be presented with a recap screen, featuring you score, as well as the bonus you’ve been granted with (medals, lives and bombs). Your score depends on the number of enemies you’ve destroyed and on the amount of bonus you’ve picked-up.

To pilot your F-16, you’ll have to press:
(2) to move up,
(8) to move down,
(4) to move left,
(6) to move right,
(5) to fire,
(*) to toggle between weapons,
(*) twice to perform loops and barrel rolls.
