ok since u use the norton tech guys i am assuming u used add/remove program to uninstall the software and all other stuff. If u using win xp/vista u can probably use system restore feature which will set ur comp to setting prior to installation of beta version.
start/all programs/accessories/system restore

btw be advise that if u have used the uninstall which came with NIS and rebooted all that is left behind is licencing info and shouldn't interfere with ur other installation.

I am using Vista Home premium 32 bit. I tried to restore, Uninstall in safe mode but still didn't work. During installation of new version, it prompted me to uninstall the older beta version. While uninstalling, the progress got struck at 94%. I left it overnight and still didn't finish.

Now I have somehow found a beta version of 2009 and installing it again. Maybe it will uninstall properly this time . N don't worry I ll keep u all posted ! thx for your help.

i remember the same thing happened to me once as well. i used norton for few days but then gave up and uninstalled it. i cant remember exactly how i got rid of it completely.

There is this one thing I found on symantec website which is used to uninstall norton products. Carefully read the instructions there first to prevent removal of other things which you might want to keep. Again I didn't use any such tools myself and I only used something inside windows to remove the software in my case but I can't remember that at all.

Read through all the comments in this article, there are few about 1/4th down the page that say they tried this method and it worked for them as well.

Finally after so many PC restores and then Norton Removal tool : http://www.symantec.com/nrt/ the beta 09 was removed. Since I am using 09 again so did not had to try deleting registry keys( It may get tricky there).
