Computer Keeps Restarting

hmmz...interesting problem.....its probably a virus....nothing else could do that

How far does it get before it restarts, ie does it get past the bios screen, or do you see windows loading? Is it the same place everytime?

infact it restarts at different times majority of time screen goes black and restarts after the windows xp loading bit

if u have removed the viruses, may be look for trojan u can download spybot from software section update it and run it

Try pressing F8 as the computer boots past the Bios screen, then select safe mode, see if it boots ok like that. If it does scan your computer for viruses while in safe mode, also this can sometimes be a software driver playing up, have you installed anything new lately?

to be honest iv had this problem for several weeks so i cant remember what i installed unfortunately

its not a trojan or virus problem.. simple and easy way is to install a fresh windows xp..

You can do one thing. First of all you must have a latest antivirus setup program with you which you can install. It must be either on CD or must be saved somewhere in your system.
Then as you start your system, start pressing F8. Start your computer in Safe Mode as you have been told earlier. Then, scan your system with the antivirus you have. If it does not find anything. Uninstall it and install the antivirus from CD or from your system. Then scan. If it does not find anything. Again restart your system and start pressing F8. Select Option Disable Automatic Restart on System Failure. Open internet explorer and go to this link

Click on full service scan. It may take more than 5 hours to complete
