To download a torrent file u need following things

You need 3 major things:

A properly configured internet connection
A BT Client (BitTorrent program like uTorrent or Azureus) (a file-sharing program to handle .torrent files to the perform the downloading and uploading) that has been properly configured
A source of .torrent files
- A site where they post torrents, like mininova.org

Any other info please check out FAQ section of any torrents site on the net as u can see we are not torrent site

which torrent client are you using? azureus? utorrent?

i don't have experience with utorrent.
most likely u are having problem because the port is not opened.
you have to open the port in your firewall and router (if any)

if you haven't open the port in router yet then let us know the router model and we will help you out and also the port which you are using.

U torrent sucks. I use old but reliable bit torrent. Tell us exactly the error ur getting? U have to make sure that the torrent is online, u can do that by checking the status and replies to that torrent.
Sometimes like admin said it could be ur firewall so turn off ur firewall n see if its connect. and like admin said provide us with all the relevant info.

also don't forget some torrents you can only download depending on the upload ratio or affiliation w/ a specific site. i personally use "abc torrent" software to download all my torrents.

I think this is the appropriate place since it is a question...

What is you guys opinion of Torrents as opposed to downloading in parts from rapidshare? Is it safer (chance of getting caught?) Is it faster? Is it easier to use in general?

I was just wondering, and what client is best: azereus, bittorrent?

Just wondering as Rapidshare is becoming very tedious as I don't have a premium, and I really could do with an alternate method...

there we go next time plz do a quick search u qts might have already been answered and no file that u download from net is ever 100% save.
But generally recognized torrent sites have safe torrents

I use Utorrent, and get torrents from Isohunt.

They download really slowly though - like 13kb/s, does anyone know how to speed it up? It has like 1000 seeds but still goes that speed...?

Anyone heard of private trackers as well, if anyone has memebership to a good one could they please email me d.bakeronline@gmail.com with an invite.
