Shaam hote hee kyon, Diye jal jaate hain
Kyon aankhein nam hoti hai, kyon ashk dhal jaate hain
Taarikiyoâ€™n ko cheerkar, ye lau jagmagaati hai
Sehar hote hee kyon, Shamma dhal jaati hai
Aksar tanha raato mein, Kyon bebasi jhalakti hai
Kyon din khushi manata hai, Kyon raat udaas hoti ha
iShaam hote hi kyon, Diye jal jaate hain
Kyon aankhein nam hoti hai, kyon ashk dhal jaate hain

Inn waadiyoâ€™n mein khudko, mai Kyon udaas paata hoon
Ye Surile parinde bhi, Kyon udaas geet gaate hain
Sehraa mein hoon mai tanha, Iss neele falak ke neeche
Ye aasmaaâ€™n bhi mujhpar, kyon bijliyaaâ€™n giraate hain
