As i have said before on other forums, boycotting is not the way forward. When you think about it, it is quite hypocritical of us to judge the whole of Denmark by one or a few peoples actions, whereas we as Muslims ask people not to judge us as a whole by the few people who are giving a bad name to Islam (Suicide Bombers, Terrorists ...etc)
I do hope that Muslims can also react in accordance with the Prophetic tradition this time; I was not too impressed with the collective punishment meted out to all things Danish as a result of the terrible cartoons published by one Danish newspaper. As a general rule Islamic rule does not punish collectively and is just and precise in dealing with the parties responsible - where it has jurisdiction and in the hands of those qualified and with the authority to decide such issues. Last time around we had mass demonstrations, riots, wanton destruction of property and many other acts of recklessness and idiocy carried out. This was not the example of the Prophet Muhammad or any of the Prophets (peace and Allahs blessings be upon them all). In their times they and their families and companions suffered far worse persecution and difficulties than anything faced today but responded with patience and by redoubling efforts to explain the message and religion of the One God. Insha'Allah Muslims will also see that the best way to respond to this film and any other such provocation is to step up efforts to educate others on the reality of the message of Islam and why they should embrace it.
The best response to the Danish cartoons would have been to print millions of pamphlets on the life, character and message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and Allahs blessings be upon him) and to distribute them to Europeans. Thats far better than anarchic behaviour on the streets of Muslim majority nations.
