Excited fans fervently hung around Yeravada Jail, Pune and Imperial Heights, Bandra, Mumbai for three days waiting for even a tiny glimpse of actor Sanjay Dutt, ever since the Supreme Court granted the actor interim bail on Monday.
But when Dutt walked out -- unshaven, quietly smiling -- in the early hours of Thursday most of those fans missed him.
When he was released co-accused Yusuf Nulwala (second from right) was with him. The two were sentenced by Mumbai's TADA court judge P D Kode on July 13.
Also present was Dutt's lawyer Satish Maneshinde (second from left) who said, "He wants to spend time with his family. He was happy he got bail and happy to see the outside world. He said he was grateful to God and the judiciary."
Dutt sped to Pune's Lohegaon airport from where he took a chartered flight to Mumbai
He reached his Bandra home a little after 8.30 a, where a small puja and bear hugs from his family -- sisters Priya (in the picture) and Namrata Dutt and brothers-in-law Owen Roncon and Kumar Gaurav -- awaited him.
