well you cant really say ashamed...first of all...hardly any foreigners can pronounce our name correctly...it takes ages for them to learn.....secondly.....a shorter name is not too bad...like me.....vishal to vish.....i didnt really make that convertion....ppl. in my school did...and i didnt have any problem with it.....
Some cases I think ppl are ashamed... but other cases people do it just to make things easier i guess :/.... like my name is Ahsen... i dont alter it anyway... i make sure ppl say it righ
