What really happened in Jame-a-hafsa - Translation below urdu text
Translation:
The first female student earned shahdat in my lap. Her name was Saima she was from Muree suberb Alyoot. She went to roof to get something and 4 bullets piereced her. 2 bullets hit her belly. I hold her in my arms in hope to comfort her. She died without any treatment due to blood loss. That was the evening of July 3rd.
The 10 year resident of Jame-a-hafsa Razia stated that she was edcuated at Jamea for 8 yrs and since last 2 was a teacher. On July 5th she left Jamea on the order and pressure of her parents. Razia states her body might be home but her heart is still in Jamea. Razia and I didn't meet face to face as she wasn'y ready for that. This interview was done through an intermediatary. The intermediatory also gave me wills, Transcripts and exams papers of students. These wills alos are heart wrenching.
My 1st qts: when the firing started where were u and rest of staff and students?
Razia: on the afternoon of july 3rd i was teaching when I heard firing. Some styudents rush in to inform that the security forces have started firing indiscrimantly at the Jamea. I tried to move the students to shelter. When I tried to look out i saw in the mosque area male students were getting hit bu bullets. Tera gas was everywhere choking us. We went to assist them with water and as we were reckless lot of female students also got hit approx. 20 female students got injured. Lot of students both male & female were hurt or have earned shahdah, the whole atmosphere was filled with smoke and tear fas. By the evening we were running from hall to hall in serch of shelter from the barage trying to move injured student.
By night fall there were bodies everywhere we couldn't help them as the firing was continous we didn't know how many were injured and how many has met their Maker. Lot of female students were injured. All we could do was use our dupatas and provide water as 1st aid. There was no ration and all of use were hungry. No one could reach the kitchen as the whol area was getting hit by security forces. In the section where there was food no one had appetite. BY sun rise we had lot of shaheed in our midst. In the morning we started getting calls to come out.
qts: Govt has charged that the students were taken as hostage, what you have to say abt that?
Razia: There is no truth in that. We were free to leave but we didn't want to go as we think if the price of getting Islamic law in this land is shahdah then we were willing to sacrifice our lives.
Qts: How you guys survived without food & rations?
Razia: Most of us didn't have appertite our 1st priority was to get treatement for the injured female students. Though Maualan Abudul Rasheed Ghazi sent us some money saying to get something from the canteen. The canteen didn't have much in stock except biscuits. the female students bought wat they could, it wasn't enough some got one biscuit some got 2 and we had water. We ate and thanked ALLAH for food. The females staff & students in the other hall didn't get to eat.
Qts: how is it when people on the outside has declared that there was huge amount of rations inside Jamea even for a year to serve all?
Razia: This is an absolute lie, in last 6 months Jamea has suffered extreme difficulties in every thing. From last 2 months all staff were prohibited to take breakfast. This ban was not only on staff and students but on every one both Ghazi Brothers, thier families and kids all followed no breakfast policy to save rations.
Qts: The fire that engulfed Jamea what do u know wat is arson or what is accident?
Razia: This was the cruelty inflicted upon us. Beside the human loss the lot of religious books including Quran was burned due to that fire. I will always feel sad that I was unable to save these books due to lack of water. I had shortly left the Jamea when the fire started and later learned from other females that lot of females died due to fire.
Qts: Did you leave urself or on the pressure from ur parents?
Razia: As I have already stated none of us wana leave, I have been a student and at time was a staff member but my parents forced me and I obeyed them.
Qts: How come we don;t see that many parents or guardians out thier in cmparision to 1000's of students inside the Jamea?
Razia: The majority of female students were from orphans from the earthquake efffected area and were resided in the 3 hostels. The situation in hostels were bad. Of the 3 hostels (Ayehs, Darruqya & Zainab) only Zainad had water left as water supply to the other 2 was cut off. Apart from students we had widows and others females who had no family left from earthqauke area.
(she then provids name of female teachers who r still missing)
Qts: Wat did Jamea provided to these female students?
Razia: Everyone get abt 500 rs/month. wazeefa/imdad (for widows), their clothes, beds and all other neccessities were covered by Jamea.
Qts; How many female student u think were inside.
Razia: I left on july 4th, on july 5th lot of others left, I guess approx. 1500 were still inside and GOD only know if they have survived I don't think they have after this brutal operation.
(she then said she don't know what has happend to the Ghazi sahib family, to her knowledge family was still inside the jamea as she met them on JUly 3rd, so saying they left 15 days early is a lie)
Qts: Wat happened to the exams that were to be held?
Razia: Exams were to be held in a monthe. The Wafaq-ul-madaris (federal madrassa association) held exams for 18 branches of Jamea, they refused and the students lost a year of studies. Wat I find sad is that approx 1500 students were killed by this govt and noone is there to ask them how that has happened? If they were required to do that the least they can do is to provide proper burial for this shaheed instead of throwing thier dead bodies in sewearge and ditches. No one has courage to ask these qustions, not us, not the leaders nor the media.
