Two parts of a Broken Heart
She wakes up early.
Walks to the bathroom.
Puts on her make-up,
and she, thinks of yesterday.
He wakes up lonely.
Opens the bottle.
Thinks about her,
and he, drinks away his pain.
He’s slowly slipping,
Watching his days go by.
And when she walked away,
silently he dies.
She’s trying harder.
Each day she cries.
It’s getting tougher to be strong.
She wonders why she tries.
Don’t try to fix them.
It’s already been done.
Two parts of a broken heart,
still trying to be one.
One day they’ll find out,
Know just what went wrong.
Until that day comes to them,
The days are way too long.
She tries to call him,
Hangs up the telephone.
Turns to a friend instead,
and she, thinks of what she’s done.
He tries to forget her,
The drinks just aren’t enough.
grabs the pistol by the bed,
but death is way too tough.
One day she’ll realize,
And try to make things right.
But till that fateful day will come,
it’s another lonely night.
He’ll sober up one sunday,
And try to win her back.
Try not to let the days be wasted,
And get his life on track.
Don’t try to fix them.
It’s already been done.
Two parts of a broken heart,
still trying to be one.
One day they’ll find out,
Know just what went wrong.
Until that day comes to them,
The days are way too long.
She answers the phone one day,
His voice speaks up and says.
I’m sorry for the way I was,
I can’t get you out of my head.
He’ll wait for her response,
She’ll tell him it’s her fault.
Nothing she could ever do,
would take away his hurt.
She says she loves him,
And that she always has.
She’ll say she missed the way he was,
And ask him to come back.
He’ll shed a tear for her,
And say he’s missed her too.
He says he wants to change her ways,
and tells her I love you.
Don’t try to fix them.
It’s already been done.
Two parts of a broken heart,
Just bonded into one.
One day they’ll find out,
They were never wrong.
They know they’re meant for each other,
And were in love all along.
