Love Poem
I never thought we’d fall in love,
We were just friends, that’s all there was.
But as days went by and by,
I felt a strange feeling, I wondered why?
For every time I looked at you,
I felt my heart beating as if calling out to you.
But I ignored this feeling,
For I was in love with a girl,
Who knew not of love’s true meaning.
And when she left, I was sad,
As I promised myself that I would never love again.
But, you and I met once more,
And my old feelings began to grow,
And then it was that it struck me,
That you and I were made to be.
I still remember the day I proposed to you
The way you sat there; so quiet, so shy
But when you said yes to me,
I felt I could’ve touched the sky.
And when you put your hand in mine,
I knew then that this love was divine.
And I love you my darling,
For I know that now and forever, you’re mine.
