Cricketers and Indian film actresses seem to make great friends. Now, gossip mills are grinding overtime with stories of Harbhajan Singh and actress Geeta Basra hitting the party and social circuit together, as reported by Delhi Times. Recently, Harbhajan was spotted talking to Geeta at length, outside a hotel in suburban Mumbai. An eye-witness says he was so engrossed talking to her that he was oblivious to the roadblock created by keeping his car parked by the side for long. He was completely unaware of motorists honking behind him, trying to get his attention. Says the eye-witness: "There was a big line of cars behind Harbhajan's car, but he was so immersed in his animated conversation with Geeta that he did not hear them honking." Eventually, Harbhajan and Geeta realised that they were creating a traffic jam and ended their conversation abruptly, and returned to their respective cars. Harbhajan was accompanied by a friend in his car.



When contacted, Geeta admitted that such an episode did happen. She says, "Well, it was just a small incident. We were at a suburban hotel that day. Harbhajan and I were talking. I guess such things happen with everybody, some time or the other." However, she clarified that she is not dating the cricketer. "Harbhajan and I are just good friends. We do hang out together but in a group. I am also friends with Yuvraj Singh. Yuvi, Harbhajan and I are all Punjabi, so we bond well," she said. Geeta and Harbhajan have known each other for six months now. "We met through a common friend and hit it off well. You should not read too much into my friendship with Harbhajan. Anyway, I have a lot of male friends and we all hang out together. Does that mean I am seeing all of them? It is difficult to find female friends in the film industry where most actresses generally don't get along with each other. Harbhajan and I are definitely in touch, but as friends," Delhi Times quoted Geeta as saying.



Even film star Preity Zinta has a crush on the turbanator. She regretted that she couldn't get Harbhajan Singh in her Mohali team for the Indian Premier League (IPL). "I felt bad that we couldn't get Harbhajan Singh on board. It would have been nice to have him on board as he is from Chandigarh. But Mumbai went all out for him, and so did we. But at least the good thing is, he got paid really well," Preity had said during the premier Twenty20 event. "A team is never made of one person. We had our budgets, and we had to stick to them. We wanted a team that was heavy with Indians. A lot of mathematics went into the game. Overall, I think we got a well-balanced team. And in the team format no individual wins or loses. That's the best part of it," she added.



Do you remember what transpired at the party, not long back, ahead of India's Twenty20 match against Australia? Both teams joined in a party along with the stars of Saawariya. Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and Salman Khan were also present in the ceremony as Sachin Tendulkar came with his wife Anjali. But the most attractive persons were Yuvraj Singh and Sonam Kapoor as the duo spent some time together, talking and smiling. Naturally, this got much media attention, as reported by bloggers on Bollywood.



It is also said that Sonam asked Yuvraj with whom he was that night as he was the only cricketer who was seen on page 3 with all the glam girls. Yuvraj Singh also did not lose the chance asking Sonam Kapoor that what she was doing that night. Salman Khan made a most clapped wit saying Sonam was going out with him, according to the blogs. Later in the party, Yuvraj and Sonam were seen making fun. Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has also been reported to have a close relationship with Deepika Padukone. Dhoni had invited Deepika to watch India's Twenty20 match against Australia and Deepika accepted it and was present at the stadium during the match.



One more cricketer with great demand in the Indian entertainment industry is Australian pace spearhead Brett Lee. He is supposed to make his debut in Bollywood in a sports movie 'Victory' paired with Amrita Rao. The movie is the story of a cricketer and with co-stars Allan Border, Mike Hussey and Jason Gillespie - all cricketers from Down Under. A year back he had featured in a music video and sung a duet with Asha Bhonsle too. Lee is very excited about his participation in the Hindi entertainment industry, refusing to have any problems in acting. Industry sources say Lee has turned out to be a good friend of Amrita.



However, all the film stars are not delighted with the company of cricketers. Actress Celina Jaitley had alleged, not long ago, that some of the Pakistan cricketers abused her after she performed at the Indian Cricket League (ICL) clash between Pakistan and India. This was one of the most horrifying things that ever came to light after sledging. Celina, while on a "round" around the stadium, had heard abuses in Hindi from the Pakistan players' enclosure. However, the ex-Miss India refused to section the accountability on anyone for the discourteous incident.
