Fried food ban for India players
BBC SPORT | Cricket | International Teams | India | Fried food ban for India players
Red meat and fried food have been banned at the conditioning camp for India's cricketers in Calcutta.
Local television stations in the city have obtained an official team diet card, banning certain items ahead of the series in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, grilled chicken, boiled eggs, fruit and vegetables are in.
"Every tour has rules and regulations, and diet chart," explained Ratnakar Shetty, an official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
India were knocked out of the World Cup several weeks before its conclusion last Saturday.
One of the teams they lost to in the Caribbean was Bangladesh, who later beat eventual semi-finalists South Africa.
The India squad leaves for Bangladesh on Monday to play three one-day internationals and two Tests.
Rahul Dravid remains as captain, while Ravi Shastri has agreed to be coach just for this tour.
