Should BCCI be allowed to change test dates to accomodate Dhoni?

BCCI has asked ECB to change the dates of 1st test btween Eng and Ind. If the ECB agrees to the proposal, it will leave the England team with just two days to recover between the two Tests. The first match is currently scheduled from December 11-15 in Ahmedabad, and the second from December 19-23 in Mumbai. The English camp is also understood to be keen on sticking to the departure date from India (December 24), so that the players are home for Christmas.

This is so that Dhoni can play champions league final, provided his team reaches the final. Do you think BCCI should be allowed to change the test dates.

My problem with the whole thing is the utter disregard for the test matches. This shows where BCCI interests are which is making money and to hell with cricket. We have T20 included in every series, we have T20 world cup, IPL now champions league and ill fated standford trophy. I fail to see when we have T20 world cup why we need to accomodate players and international tours for domestic money making competetion. Players can't bitch about the amount of cricket as they are complicit and wants to make money.

Well these are my 2 cents share ur thoughts.

Re: Should BCCI be allowed to change test dates to accomodate Dhoni?

Test cricket is dying....u can literally see it in the fans themselves.....the 2nd ODI yesterday had 30,000 people in the stadium...packed it up...yet I doubt that many people were there collectively for the whole test series!!!....even for Ganguly's last match!!!....you are right...it's all about the money now.... I bet no one is even interested in buying the tickets for the test series.....no one probably even cares... they might even have to make it 2 day test cricket in the future...who knows?...as for Dhoni...if he is committed to playing for his country..I dont think he should be asking for something like this

Re: Should BCCI be allowed to change test dates to accomodate Dhoni?

No ..Bcci shouldn't be allowed to do such a thing...and according to latest news..they arent either..so its good...test cricket isnt dying..test cricket fans still remain..but yes..less people visit the stadiums for test matches...(mainly in the subcontinent) we can still see lots of fans of test cricket in england and aus...

champions league itself sucks...you have ipl..you have icl..you have other leagues....its domestic cricket! how can it be more important then test matches..
