Karachi, Feb 11 (PTI) A promising Pakistan Under-19 cricketer has been murdered hours before was asked to join the North-West Frontier Province side in the ongoing Pentangular tournament.
Rahatullah, who toured Australia last year with the national juniors and had only made his first class debut this season in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, was found dead today in his hometown of Peshawar.

His body was recovered after he went missing from his house two days ago, Test player Umar Gul confirmed.

A national selector said Rahatullah, a pace bowler, was in a shortlist of players invited by the Pakistan Cricket Board for the Pentangular tournament on the request of the NWFP cricket association.

"The NWFP association had complained to the cricket board that few of their promising youngsters, including Rahatullah, had been overlooked for the Pentangular Cup, after which they were asked to report for duty," the selector said.

The selection committee itself found out late today about the tragedy that had befallen the youngster. PTI
