PCB not planning to sack any more employees: COO

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is not considering any move to sack more employees. Rather, it has offered regular employment to its contractual employees.

“No such move is under consideration and we have offered permanent employment to all those who are on contracts,” said Chief Operating Officer (COO) PCB, Shafqat Nagmi on Friday.

He dispelled an impression that large scale sacking was on its way in the Pakistan Cricket Board and said all such news appearing in the national press were baseless and propaganda by vested interest.

“Recently, we are introduced some reforms to re-structure jobs in various cadres in the PCB to bring parity in salaries and to improve working and efficiency,” he said.

“Our aim is to provide employment to the deserving people and we do not want to terminate the services of any employee without any reason,” he added.

“We switched over various employees to various positions in a recent re-reshuffle just to improve the working and to accommodate people rather than throwing them out,” he revealed.

Answering a question, he said Pakistan Cricket Board was in the process of hiring more people for jobs through a transparent and fair process which is open to all.
